Businesses

Leadership development and people performance consulting for Australian businesses.

You built the business. The people part is a different kind of hard.

You are running the business, managing the people, putting out fires before 9 am and still expected to have a vision for where the whole thing is going.

The team that worked brilliantly at five people is starting to show cracks at fifteen. Someone got promoted because they were exceptional at the job and it turns out leading people is an entirely different job that nobody prepared them for. Two people have a dynamic and you have been managing around it for longer than you would like to admit.

And Greg. Greg has been late every day for three weeks and you have been in four conversations about it without having the one conversation that matters.

In a business your size, one person can change everything. In both directions.

Sound familiar?

Sound like your week?

No one has to point it out.

Because you notice it before anyone says anything, in the energy that shifts before the meeting starts, in the person who used to bring ideas and now sits quietly, in the high performer doing just enough and no more, in the team that used to sort things out between themselves and is now bringing everything to you.

Meanwhile, you're thinking: why has everyone's attitude changed?

And they're thinking: does anyone know what we are doing here?

What's being said in the team meeting and what's being said in the group chat are two completely different conversations. That's usually where the problem is.

Spoiler

A team day and a pizza lunch won't fix this.

Neither will the group chat, the new org chart or the “let's all just communicate better” conversation you have had four times already.

“I can't have the hard conversations without it blowing up.”
“No one takes accountability unless I chase them.”
“I promoted the wrong person and now I'm stuck with the fallout.”
“I'm doing my job and half of everyone else's.”
“I'm going to lose someone good if I don't sort this.”
When people do not feel valued, you get silence, resistance and disengagement. And a business owner carrying the entire emotional load of the workplace on their back wondering why they are exhausted before lunchtime.

The longer it sits, the more it costs. In rework, in turnover, in the energy you spend managing what should be managing itself. In a business your size, that cost is not spread across a large organisation. It lands directly on you.
Same movie. Different cast.

We've seen this movie before.
(Different cast, same plot.)

Greg's been late every day for three weeks. Two people have stopped eating lunch together. Your best person just went quiet in meetings.

Those are all symptoms.

Unclear expectations.
A manager who's never been shown how to have a hard conversation.
A team pulling in three different directions because nobody's told them where they're going.

We've worked with construction crews, hairdressing teams, retail back offices, professional services businesses, and everything in between. The industries look different. The people dynamics rarely do.

We will not turn up and hand you a program. We arrive with questions. The ones that most people are too polite or too close to the situation to ask. Then we build the answer around what we find.

Working with us

What working with us looks like from the inside.

01

You talk, we listen.

Your people, your pressures and the Greg situation you have been managing around for six weeks. We start here and assume nothing.

02

We map it out together.

You share what's going on. We share what we are seeing and what needs to happen.

03

We build it around your people.

Something designed for the specific people in your business and the dynamics at play. We are allergic to generic.

04

We get in and deliver.

Sessions, coaching, alignment conversations. Without the corporate language that makes your eyes glaze over.

05

Then you get the results.

The conversation you have been avoiding gets had. The bottleneck moves. Greg gets sorted. Now you can get on with building the business.

Where to start

Choose your starting point.

Tier 1

Business diagnostic

Who it's for:
The business owner or leader who can feel something's off but can't name it yet, or the business growing fast and starting to feel the friction.

What happens:
A structured assessment of your team, leadership and communication patterns. We find the root cause before anyone recommends a solution.

What you get:
A written summary of findings, a prioritised list of what to tackle first and a clear roadmap for what comes next.

Tier 2

Workshop program

Who it's for:
The team that has identified the problem and is ready to do something about it rather than talk about it for another quarter.

What happens:
Bespoke sessions built around what the diagnostic uncovered, designed for the specific people in the room rather than recycled from someone else's engagement.

What you get:
Practical tools your team can use the following week, chosen and implemented for your specific goals.

Tier 3

Business partnership

Who it's for:
The business owner or leader who is done being the ceiling on their own growth and ready to build a team that doesn't depend on them for everything.

What happens:
An ongoing three-to-six-month engagement working alongside you as a strategic people partner. Check-ins, coaching, team sessions and accountability built in.

What you get:
A team that handles what it's supposed to handle, a leadership layer that develops rather than stagnates and a business that can grow without you in the middle of everything.

Standalone

Leadership coaching

Who it's for:
The business owner or manager who knows something needs to change and wants to work through it with someone who has been in enough rooms to skip the obvious advice.

What happens:
One-to-one coaching focused on the specific challenge in front of you, whether that's a team dynamic, leadership transition, conversation or decision.

What you get:
Clarity on what's actually going on, a practical way forward and the kind of thinking partner who will tell you what they actually see.

Same humans. Different industries.

Yes, we've worked with businesses like yours.

Different industries. The same humans showing up to work every day with the same needs, the same frustrations and the same capacity to either drag a team down or lift it completely.

Construction and trades

Where the job gets done brilliantly and the team communication does not always keep up.

Retail and hospitality

Where the customer experience lives or dies in the back-office conversations nobody is having.

Professional services

Where everyone is exceptional at the work and nobody was ever taught how to lead people.

Creative and beauty industries

Where the culture is everything and one bad dynamic can change the whole room.

Health and wellness businesses

Where caring for clients comes naturally, but communication does not.

Owner-led businesses

Where the founder is still doing too much and knows it.

Working nationally, in person and online, depending on what the engagement calls for.

How strong small teams work

What high-performing small teams get right.

Leadership development

Managers who can have the hard conversation without it becoming a whole thing. Who know how to delegate, hold people accountable and stop absorbing work that belongs to someone else.

Team communication

A team that sorts things out between themselves. Honest, direct, without the group chat drama or the dynamic everyone's working around but nobody's naming.

Shared direction

Everyone knows where the business is going and what their part in it looks like. No more everyone's busy but nothing's moving.

When all three are working, you get a team that doesn't need you to hold it together. That's what we're building toward.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot.

My team is small. Is this worth it for a business of our size?

In a small team, one person's disengagement has a disproportionate impact on everything. The energy, the output, the culture. The smaller the team, the more every single person matters. So yes. Arguably more so.

I am not sure it is a leadership problem. It just feels like a people problem.

It is almost always both. And they are usually connected in ways that are hard to see when you are inside it. That's exactly why we start with the diagnostic.

We have done team-building before and it did not change anything.

Team-building days are great fun. They are also often designed for someone else's problem. We start by finding out what your problem is before we design a single thing. That's the part that makes the difference.

Can you work with just me as the business owner or do you need the whole team?

Both. The standalone leadership coaching is designed for exactly that situation. Sometimes, the most important place to start is with the person at the top.

How long does it take to see results?

It depends on where you are starting from. Some clients see shifts within the first few sessions. Others are working through something more embedded that takes longer to turn around. We will be honest with you about what's realistic before we start.

I do not have time for a long engagement. What's the minimum to make this work?

The diagnostic and a targeted workshop program can be run over a matter of weeks. It is not the full partnership model, but it gives you clarity on what's going on and a practical way forward. Start there and see what you need.

Ready?

The business works. The team is getting there. Let's sort the gap.

The first step is a team assessment, an honest conversation about what is driving the disconnect in your business and whether we are the right fit to fix it.

Because we would rather tell you we are not than become another data point in the “we have tried this before” conversation.

We skip the slide deck, the trust falls and the “great job team” email three days later.
